Terms of Service

Effective date: April 7, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Codewright platform operated by R Software & Consulting LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using Codewright, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Codewright (codewright.app), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are creating an account on behalf of a child under 13, you represent that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and that you consent to these Terms on the child's behalf.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the platform.

2. Description of Service

Codewright is an interactive coding education platform that teaches real Python programming to learners ages 7 through adult. The service includes:

  • A structured Python curriculum with age-appropriate learning tracks.
  • A browser-based code editor with real-time code execution.
  • An AI-powered tutor that provides personalized educational guidance.
  • Progress tracking, achievements, and learning analytics.

3. Account Registration

To use Codewright, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information.
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials and not share them with others.
  • Promptly update your information if it changes.
  • Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may not create an account using false or misleading information. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these requirements.

4. Subscription and Billing

Plans and Pricing

Codewright offers Student plans (1 seat) and Family plans (up to 4 seats), available on monthly or annual billing cycles. Current pricing is listed on our Pricing page. All prices are in U.S. dollars.

Free Trial

New accounts may be eligible for a free trial period. At the end of the trial, your subscription will begin and you will be charged unless you cancel before the trial expires.

Auto-Renewal

All subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annual) unless you cancel before the renewal date. You authorize us to charge the payment method on file for each renewal period.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Upon cancellation:

  • Monthly plans: access continues until the end of the current billing cycle. No refund is issued for the remaining days.
  • Annual plans: access continues until the end of the current annual period. No partial refunds are issued for the remaining months.

Family Plan Seats

Family plans support up to 4 learner seats under a single account. Each seat has its own learner profile, progress data, and AI tutor history. You may reassign a seat to a different learner up to 2 times per billing cycle. This limit prevents abuse while allowing reasonable flexibility.

Price Changes

We may change subscription pricing from time to time. Any price change will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. We will notify you at least 30 days in advance of any price increase via email.

5. User Content

"User Content" means any code, text, or other materials you create or submit while using Codewright, including code written in the editor and messages sent to the AI tutor.

  • Ownership: you retain ownership of the code you write on Codewright. Your code is yours.
  • Privacy: your code and AI tutor conversations are private. We do not share, publish, or display your code to other users.
  • License to us: you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process your User Content solely for the purpose of providing the Codewright service (for example, executing your code and providing AI tutor responses). We do not use your code to train AI models.

6. Intellectual Property

The Codewright platform, including its curriculum, lesson content, user interface, graphics, design, and underlying technology, is owned by R Software & Consulting LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the platform for personal, non-commercial educational purposes. You may not:

  • Copy, redistribute, or republish our lesson content.
  • Reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the platform.
  • Use our trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written permission.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use Codewright to:

  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the platform, other user accounts, or our systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform or its infrastructure.
  • Submit malicious code, viruses, or harmful scripts through the code editor.
  • Use the AI tutor for purposes unrelated to coding education (e.g., generating content for commercial products, academic dishonesty).
  • Share your account credentials or allow others to access your account (Family plan seats are the mechanism for sharing access within a household).
  • Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the platform using automated means.

8. AI Tutor

Codewright includes an AI-powered tutor that provides educational guidance, explanations, and feedback on code. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • The AI tutor generates educational content intended to support learning. It is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind.
  • AI-generated responses may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies. We encourage students to verify concepts and think critically about all information provided.
  • The AI tutor is designed to guide learning, not to provide complete solutions. It may intentionally withhold answers to encourage problem-solving.
  • AI tutor conversations may be reviewed by our team for quality assurance and safety purposes, particularly for accounts belonging to children under 13.

9. Children and COPPA

Codewright is intended for users ages 7 and older. For users under 13:

  • A parent or legal guardian must provide verifiable consent before the child can access the platform. Consent is obtained through Epic Games Kids Web Services (KWS).
  • Parents can review their child's data, request deletion, or revoke consent at any time by contacting support@codewright.app.
  • We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide the educational service. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.
  • If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will promptly delete that information.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

  • You violate these Terms or our Privacy Policy.
  • Your subscription payment fails and is not resolved within a reasonable period.
  • We are required to do so by law.
  • We reasonably believe your account is being used in a manner that could harm other users, the platform, or our business.

Upon termination, your right to access the platform ceases immediately. Your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the platform after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the platform and cancel your subscription.
